Accelerating Innovation and Expanding Impact 
International Women’s Day took on special meaning in 2022. On March 8, we learned that MacKenzie Scott would donate $15 million to the Bob Woodruff Foundation.  
Ms. Scott’s donation helped us further innovate, act quickly, and expand our impact. We launched new events, including VetFest. There, we brought together hundreds of local veterans, active-duty service members, and their families for a day of fun, music, and gratitude – while also sharing resources and information about access to benefits. Recognizing military children’s mental health as an urgent need we announced a $1 million commitment to military children’s mental health in November.  
As we expand VetFest, we’ll invest this new source of income (earned through sponsorships) in our mission. Through Ms. Scott’s gift, we’ve also raised the visibility of the organization and our impact. Since receiving the donation, we’ve built 28 new corporate and foundation partnerships, including major brands such as Amazon and Tom Hanks’ coffee company, Hanx.
