Supporting Career Opportunities for Transitioning Service Members

Through our VOWS initiative, this was a year of pushing limits to expand our reach and impact in veteran employment. With generous support from HSBC, we launched our VOWS Miami chapter in July. Later that year, with Citi as our partner, we hosted our first VOWS Symposium since 2019. We welcomed Gridiron Financial as a supporter and facilitator of career and business opportunities in financial services and beyond for former and current military personnel. And VOWS supporter UBS helped us close the year on a high note by hosting our VIP Reception at Stand Up for Heroes.
With a focus on ensuring our veterans thrive after service, through our events, we brought together speakers who understand the issues transitioning service members face, and we created networking opportunities for our veterans. We also organized opportunities for veterans and transitioning service members to update their resumes, and connect with potential mentors in the industry.
Through the support of our VOWS partners, we provided grants to seven organizations nationwide that support veterans facing challenges with employment, including housing services, legal services, and mental health care.
